WHO? Calling all youth 1st through
8th grade! Wrestling season is upon us and we want you to come wrestle
with the Duluth Youth Wrestling team! This is real wrestling for real
kids!
Practices begin the week of Tuesday, November 30th, and will be held
Tues. and Wed. from 6:30pm-8:30pm at Duluth High School Wrestling Room.
Regular season tournaments begin
Sunday, December 5th, 2010
Tournaments are held on Sat and/or Sundays. Tournament participation
is optional.
The regular season ends on Saturday
February 13, 2011 with post-season qualifiers and state tournaments
all ending by mid March.
FREE!!!! No club dues!!!
Required - $41
is required to be paid directly to USA Wrestling, the premier national
organization for youth wrestling in the U.S.A., for mandatory USA wrestling
membership and card through their on-line registration process. This
provides insurance for the coach and the club.
Optional $50-$70
- paid to the club for a Spirit Pak which includes our team singlet,
shorts, T-shirt, and bag. You will need to purchase head gear, wrestling
shoes are optional though highly recommended, and a mouth guards (required
for wrestlers with braces only).
Optional Tournaments $15 - each entered on a “pay
as you play” basis, through an online registration process with
USA Wrestling’s Team Georgia website.
Why should I Wrestle? Wrestling
is perhaps the original extreme sport, predating perhaps all other known
sports. Wrestling is an awesome sport that offers pure fun, one-on-one
challenge for the athlete, individual confidence building, and great
physical conditioning. Everyone participates!
Who is the Duluth Youth
Wrestling Club? The Club is sanctioned under USA Wrestling
with the lead being Duluth HS Head Wrestling Coach Ed Bobo. Head Youth
coach is Todd Pritchett. We are always looking for assistance. If you're
